More BsAs Pics

More pics...

1- Guarding something or other.
2- The botanical gardens have the most expressive scultures. These people look desperate. She is especially distraut by losing most of her arm.
3- Famous Boca Football stadium (a.ka. as La Bomboñera--box of little bombs). This is one of the most explosive Football stadiums in the world--especially when playing arch rival team, River Plate. I hope to make it to a match, but have been warned to not wear anything that shows wealth, and try to minimize sticking out. These are the fans who put their team loyalty ahead of their personal safety. Truly a cultural experience...I'm off to a match on Wednesday with some quieter teams... warming up for the Boca-River experience...btw, I'm wearing a helmet not for protection from the fans but rather for protection from the crazy drivers. I took a bike tour of the southern part of the city.
4- Evita and Che. Together forever in La Boca.
5- Colourful La Boca. A very poor settlement and one of BsAs' oldest. Bright coloured paints were used to cover up the poor materials used in building construction. This area stands in contrast to San Telmo--BsAs' original wealthy neighbourhood (this neighborhood was later abandoned when various epidemics, including yellow fever swept through BsAs). It is here in La Boca that Tango was born.
6- Tango- The world's sexiest dance.
